This 3-day course is designed for experienced paddlers who want to refine their techniques, tackle more challenging rapids, and build confidence in navigating demanding river environments. With expert instructors guiding you every step of the way, you’ll learn advanced maneuvers, improve your decision-making in fast-moving water, and tackle rapids you never thought possible.

 

This course focuses on high-level skills like advanced water reading, swiftwater rescue, and handling complex river features. Whether you’re preparing for multi-day expeditions or pushing your limits on steep and technical rivers, this course will help you master everything you need for safe, thrilling whitewater adventures.

 

What You’ll Learn:

 

Day 1: Advanced Techniques & Precision Paddling

 

     Mastering advanced paddling strokes: cross-bow, dynamic eddy turns, and advanced ferries

 

     How to navigate through steep and technical rapids with precision

 

     Reading complex river features and understanding how to position your raft for optimal flow

 

     Developing a stronger connection with your boat: fine-tuning balance, control, and power

 

Day 2: Complex Whitewater Navigation & Swiftwater Rescue

 

     Advanced tactics for navigating tricky water features like stoppers, holes, and converging currents

 

     How to handle high-risk scenarios: running big drops, crossing eddy lines, and avoiding dangerous obstacles

 

     Swiftwater rescue for advanced situations: rescuing others in strong currents, flipped rafts, and using rescue gear

 

     Safety in high-water conditions: evaluating risk, group dynamics, and emergency response

 

Day 3: Putting It All Together – Real-World Scenarios

 

     Full-day run on a more challenging river with a mix of rapids, drops, and technical features

 

     Real-time application of advanced navigation skills, group coordination, and problem-solving

 

     Developing advanced rescue scenarios and understanding how to react to emergency situations

 

     Debrief and feedback session: refining techniques and assessing progress for future whitewater expeditions

- Wetsuit or drysuit depending on the weather

- Swimming suit and towel
- Shoes that may get wet (no crocs)
- Thermal underwear / Ski underwear (synthetic or merino)

Conditions

- Good swimming abilities and health
- From 14 years old
An pervious experiance on packraft, kajak, canoe or rafting is a plus. If you don´t consider youself especially sportif we recommande you to start with the Saalach Beginner

Cancellations

Packrafting is an outdoor sport and we won't be scared if water fall from above! The tour will take place by any weather. By extrem storm we may have to postpone and delay the course.
High water may as well lead to some adjustment, delay or cancellation. The participant we be noticed in due time.
